Hong Kong Brahma Shrine
Kowloon Bay, Hong Kong
Open to the public for worship
The Hong Kong Brahma Shrine is a sacred monument for veneration and reflection set within the fast-evolving district of Kowloon Bay. At its centre is the serene deity, Lord Brahma, his four gold faces shaded by an ornate, eight-metre-high pavilion situated in the spacious courtyard of Goldin Financial Global Centre. Gleaming against the grey stone and glass of its modern, 27-storey neighbour, the shrine harks back to another time and place, a devout, tropical kingdom of warm smiles 1,500 kilometres away. Thai ceremonial dancers and classical musicians perform daily, and monks are invited from Thailand to minister on special occasions.
